FRIENDS OF RIVERS

Missour River Relief logo
Missouri River Relief
: These folks are the real deal for river stewardship. They get muddy and keep it clean! MO River Relief inspired us to do River Cleanups by Canoe. MO River Relief has a great websitem, blog and Facebook.

Living Lands and Waters Just say the name Chad Pregracke, and you will find out who the real union steward of the river rat union is. Chad has the biggest and best river cleanup operation in the world. We love when Chad and crew come to town. Loads of trash and loads of fun .

Friends of the Sunflower River : Our great river partner, John Ruskey, founded the Friends of the Sunflower River after we started what turned into a five year oddyssey to paddle its entire length. Each year of the expedition, the membership of Sunflower Friends grew. Now it is the organization through which America's Most Endangered River (2003, American Rivers) is being restored to health. We hope for a great many paddlers will discover hidden treasures on the Sunflower in Mississippi.

River Des Peres Coalition : This is the watershed we live on when we're not on river time. Claytonia Creek, heretofore known as "Clarktonia Creek," is our city dwelling's backyard boundary. It flows into the Deer Creek which flows into the River Des Peres. The River Des Peres coalition folks are really working hard to transform this river once the subject of an article by the Riverfront Times titled, "A Sewer Runs Through It".

RESOURCES FOR PADDLING THE GREAT RIVERS

River Gauges: This is the link to the information we use to help us plan and guide our expeditions. Knowledge of river levels and flow rates are important for determining where we can go and stop. You can use the pull down menus to choose the Water Level by District. We use the St. Louis District, and specifically the Mississippi River Basin and the Missouri River Basin gauges.

We will be posting more links and information as time allows. Check back often.
