“All Around Alton” Adventure

In partnership with the Alton Convention and Visitor Center, this is a fantastic “Great Rivers” day trip that runs 7 river miles from Paisa Creek to Alton Martina. After meeting at Alton Marina at 10am, we’ll take a quick ride on the Big Muddy shuttle up the river road to Piasa Creek. Once at our put in location, our expert guides will provide you with everything you need for the adventure and help you board one of our extraordinary voyageur canoes.

Remember, no paddling experience or special equipment is necessary, we’ve got you covered! Along our route, we’ll see some of the pristine and ever changing braided river islands unique to this stretch of the river, and we’ll choose our favorite to stop and enjoy a picnic lunch and an optional dip in the water. After lunch we’ll continue along a lovely bluff lined stretch of the river before passing in front of the historic town of Alton, Illinois, and finishing our paddle at the town’s Marina. You’ll arrive with plenty of time to to explore the town- take in a refreshment at the Old Bakery Beer Co, or explore the town’s famous antique shops. Or even check out the Great Rivers Museum at the town’s Lock, or the Riverlands Audubon Migratory Bird Center just across the bridge! This is truly a fantastic river day trip!
