Full Moon Float

Come join us on our world famous Full Moon Float on the Mighty Mississippi River! After meeting at the put in, we outfit you with all of the necessary paddling gear and help you board one of our extraordinary 29 foot voyageur canoes. After a short paddle with a Big Muddy Adventures guide and your new river friends, we will arrive on a beautiful uninhabited river island just in time for sunset and the "magic hour". While you explore the beach and island, a "campfire gourmet" dinner is prepared for you to enjoy around the fire. After enjoying a meal and some stargazing, we will paddle to the take out under the moonlight. This Big Muddy Adventures signature trip is truly a night to remember!

STL Riverfront Adventure

What better way to experience the Great River City than from the river! This is the great St.Louis adventure. It includes a classic paddling trip in a professionally guided voyageur canoe, a chance to explore nature on a pristine Mississippi River island, as well as experience some unique and incredible views of the downtown riverfront. We meet right in front of the Arch, and shuttle to our put in upstream on the Mighty Mississippi. Our expert guides will provide you with everything you need and help you board one of our extraordinary 29 foot voyageur canoes. Our route takes us into the only non-navigational reach of the River to an island to enjoy lunch. There is plenty of time to explore the island before we continue our journey into the Port of St.Louis. We pass beneath five awesome, contemporary and famous historic bridges, with incredible views of some of St. Louis's oldest riverfront buildings. The final destination lands you right in front of the Gateway Arch on the historic landing of downtown St. Louis. This is a wonderful “only in St.Louis” experience you will love!

Missouri River Day Trip

Join us on a “guide’s choice” adventure and spend the day paddling on the longest river in North America, The Missouri! This classic day trip is our chance to share with you some of our personal favorite spots as well as highlight the best of what the season has to offer. Whether it be hunting for the illusive morel mushroom on a pristine river island, paddling along downtown St. Charles like Lewis and Clark or watching the pelicans migrate, this day trip on the “Big Muddy” is always a unique and unforgettable experience! Our meetup and put-in locations vary for this trip based upon the trip route choice, but they are all within a one hour drive of St. Louis.

“All Around Alton” Adventure

In partnership with the Alton Convention and Visitors Center, this is a fun Great Rivers day trip that begins in the quaint river town of Grafton, IL, just below the confluence of the Mississippi and Illinois rivers. We meet you at Piasa Creek on the Great River Road, and shuttle up to the put in. Our professional river guides meet you, outfit you with gear and assist you in boarding one of our extraordinary 29 foot voyageur canoes. Along our route, we will explore some of the braided pristine river islands of this amazing stretch of river, picking our favorite for a river picnic lunch. After lunch we will take in river bluff views as we head downstream and pull back into Piasa Creek. You arrive with plenty of time to think about heading to Old Bakery Beer Co in historic downtown Alton for a post paddle refreshment! Or continue on your way to the Great Rivers Museum at the Lock, or to the Riverlands Audubon Center across the Clark bridge.
